Functional Laboratory Testing The Functional Laboratory Tests listed below are only available to patients who have attended a Clinic consultation. Laboratory testing usually speeds up the diagnostic process and is certainly very useful, However, a treatment programme can, and quite often does, proceed without the need for testing. Functional Testing Price List (prices correct at Jan 08) INDIVIDUAL WELLBEING DIAGNOSTIC GENOVA LABORATORY Comprehensive Digestive Stool Analysis 2.0 (CDSA 2.0) with Parasitology £225The CDSA 2.0 has been developed using the traditional CDSA as a platform and offers the most advanced non-invasive evaluation of specific gastrointestinal imbalances. It uses advanced GI biotechnology to evaluate digestion, absorption, pancreatic function, and inflammation, in addition to bacterial balance and yeast infections. The CDSA 2.0 also helps identify inflammatory conditions (including subclinical inflammation) such as food allergies, Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD), NSAID enteropathy, and post-infectious Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS). In addition to many of the standard markers this advanced profile assesses analytes such as Pancreatic Elastase (PE-1). PE-1 is a measure of pancreatic insufficiency not affected by digestive supplements, changes in stool transit time or marker variability. Other invaluable markers include Calprotectin and Eosinophil Protein X. Eosinophil Protein X will also identify inflammation and/or tissue damage in the GI tract that may be due to food allergy, protein sensitive enteropathy, colitis or gastroesophageal reflux. Calprotectin is a reliable marker that can detect the presence of infectious, inflammatory or malignant disease. It can detect low-grade inflammation as well as severe inflammation, allowing a clear differentiation between IBS and IBD, and c an be utilised to assist in selecting patients who may require further diagnostic procedures to distinguish between IBD and IBS. It can also be used to monitor treatment response. Please note! Calprotectin is available separately, which can be a useful tool for identifying and monitoring patients with inflammatory bowel conditions. Analytes measured: Digestion/ Absorption- pancreatic elastase 1, putrefactive short chain fatty acids (SCFA's), Gut Immunology- calprotectin, eosinophil protein X. Metabolic Markers- beneficial SCFA's, n-butyrate, pH, beta-glucuronidase, lithocholic acid (LCA), deoxycholic acid (DCA), LCA/ DCA ratio. Microbiology- Beneficial bacterial culture, additional bacterial culture, mycology, including sensitivities as appropriate includes EIA for Campylobacter specific antigen &Shiga-like Toxin E.coli. Parasitology (if ordered)- microscopic exam for parasites and separate EIA for Cryptosporidium, Giardia Lamblia, Entamoeba histolytica/ dispar FACtest - Food Allergen Cellular Test for delayed food allergies/intolerances: £150 Female Hormone Panel Test: measures progesterone/oestrogen levels and ratios over 28 days: £150 Progesterone / oestrogen single test: £65 Osteoporosis Risk Assessment test: £70 Hair Mineral / Heavy Metals Analysis Test: £50 Urine Amino Acids Test: £150 Detoxification Capacity Test: £140 Helicobacter Pylori Breath Test: £100 Metabolic Analysis Profile Organic Acids Test: £160 Comprehensive Parasitology x 2 Test: £120 Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) profile: £220 Menopause Profile: £120 Functional Blood Chemistry Profile: £150 |
